“Amapiano” moves to No. 1 on this week’s Official Nigeria Top 100, becoming Asake’s record-extending tenth chart leader in NIgeria (Davido ranks at No. 2 with six No. 1 entries). It also gives Olamide his third No. 1 entry in the country - joining “Rock” and “Omo Ope.” The latter appears on Asake’s debut EP ‘Ololade Asake.’

As a result, Asake and Olamide become the first ‘duo’ to record multiple No. 1 songs on the singles/aggregate chart in Nigeria. Interestingly, the two artistes have collaborated three times; the two No. 1 songs and a new single “New Religion '' which dropped Thursday June 10 at 6PM local time (''New Religion '' is also challenging for No. 1 on next week’s chart).

Apart from Asake and Olamide, other duos have gotten close to having multiple No. 1 songs. Burna Boy and Wizkid have a No. 1 collaboration with “Ginger” while “B. D’OR” peaked at No. 2. Davido and Mayorkun have a No. 1 song with the 2020 collaboration “The Best.” However, “Betty Butter” never charted on an aggregate chart during its peak period as the first ever aggregate chart was launched on November 9, 2020. The song peaked on the streaming and radio charts in July 2020.

Mavin’s compilation tape “Chapter X’ spurned two top 3 entries; “Won Da Mo” peaked at No. 1 for a week while “Overloading (Overdose)” peaked at No. 2. Ayra Starr, Crayon, Ladipoe, Magixx and Boy Spyce appear on both songs.
