Amongst the many incredible legacies ace music producer, Sarz, is known for, one of the most prominent ones is how instrumental he has been in the careers of some leading names in today’s Afrobeats scene, including Lojay, WurlD, Obongjayar, to mention a few.
And through The Sarz Academy, he has struck again with ‘Jam One Kele’ – the first track off the academy’s upcoming ‘MTLF II’ compilation project, featuring Gimba, MillyMay_pod and Fxrtune.
Thanks to the internet, music from Africa has been crossing oceans and taking dominance in global spaces and conversations; birthing new stars out of the continent everyday. Gimba, Fxrtune and MillyMay_pod – alongside other products of the academy yet to be unveiled – are the next set of stars to bet on.
Only recently, celebrity disk jockey DJ Tunez enlisted Gimba and Afrobeats culture icon, Wizkid, in a song that has been driving mainstream conversation and garnering prominent listenership. However, this is only the beginning of the uber talented singer’s stardom.
In Jam One Kele alongside his fellow inherent popstars Fxrtune and MillyMay, the songsters do a great job at describing the lucid aura that comes with the presence of African women in every room, and flavours the nostalgic feeling of falling head over heels at the first sight of a love interest.
Jam One Kele is a resplendent fusion of the five pattern beat, R&B melodies, patois adlibs and dominant basslines that melt into irresistible ear candy. The track was produced by OddWave, Twitch Papi and Bombocat; all students from the last edition of The Sarz Academy.
Again, The Sarz Academy proves to be a remarkable incubator outfit that births the finest of creative musicians around the continent. Some of its prominent alumni include Dunnie, P.Priime, Tempoe and a long list of others.
Jam One Kele is a perfect teaser that leaves every ear that hears it hungrily anticipating volume 2 of the academy’s MTLF compilation and the world truly cannot wait to hear more from Fxrtune, Gimba and MillyMay.
