Chart rankings on the Official Nigeria Top 100 are based on a weighted formula incorporating audio and video streams within Nigeria, as well as airplay on radio in the country. It is the first and only standard music chart in Nigeria, providing comprehensive music activity including the official No. 1 song in Nigeria

Burna Boy’s “Higher” Leads For a Fourth Week

“Higher” tallied 2.54 million on-demand streams (No. 3 on streaming) and 46.4 million in radio reach (No. 3 on radio), as it logs a fourth non-consecutive week at the top of the official singles chart in Nigeria. As a result, it becomes Burna Boy’s longest charting No. 1 entry in Nigeria as a lead artiste – and second overall behind only the 5-week reign of “Tshwala Bam (Remix).”

BoyPee, Brown Joel & Hyce’s “Ogechi (Remix)” with Davido holds at No. 2 for another week as it continues to benefit from having multiple versions on streaming platforms – all versions are aggregated as one on the Official Nigeria Top 100.

Rema’s “OZEBA” holds at its No. 3 peak on the Official Nigeria Top 100 – it tallied 2.91 million on-demand streams (No. 1 on streaming) and 21 million on-demand streams (No. 25 on radio).

Seyi Vibez’s “DOHA” leaps to a new high of No. 4 on this week’s Official Nigeria Top 100 after drawing 2.23 million on-demand streams (No. 4 on streaming) and 30.3 million in radio reach (No. 13 on radio).

Rema’s “HEHEHE” drops 4-5 after peaking at No. 3 on the chart.

Olamide’s “Metaverse” is steady at No. 6 on the chart after reaching a peak of No. 3.

Asake’s “ACTIVE” with Travis Scott debuts at No. 7 on the Top 100 with just two days of tracking. It tallied 2.19 million on-demand streams (No. 5 on streaming) – powered by heavy activity on premium streaming platforms in its two days of availability [it was the most-streamed song on Apple Music for the week of August 2 – 8 despite its limited availability within the tracking period]. It also drew a healthy 16.9 million in radio airplay impressions (No. 35 on radio).

Rounding out this week’s top ten; Rema’s “BENIN BOYS” with Shallipopi slips 7-8 after topping the chart for a week while Victony’s “Risk” jumps 14-9 to become the third top 10 entry off his debut album. “Risk” tallied 51.6 million in radio reach (No. 1 on radio) and 996,000 on-demand streams (No. 26 on streaming) – powered by premium streaming.

Asake’s “Wave” with Central Cee holds at No. 10 – it has spent seven weeks on the chart.

Just Outside Top Ten

Young Jonn’s “Stronger” enters a new peak of No. 11.

Ayo Maff & Fireboy DML’s “Dealer” leaves the top ten to No. 13.

Ahead of Next Week

Asake’s aiming for multiple debuts in the top ten and hoping to break some records along the way including;

  • Most top ten entries in a week

  • Most top ten debuts in a week

  • Most top ten entries off an album

  • Most top 20 entries off an album

  • Most No. 1 singles for any artiste (own record)

In addition, “MMS” with Wizkid and “Active” with Travis Scott are challenging for No. 1 on next week’s singles chart. After three days of tracking – “MMS” has surpassed 4 million on-demand streams (enough to be No. 1 on this week’s chart) while “Active” has tallied 40.9 million in radio reach after three days of tracking.
