‘Timeless’ was a hugely anticipated album, given that it was the first release by Davido, after his long break away from the public eye. The teaser dropped when rolling out the album also did a lot to whet the appetites of the listeners.

Among all the albums released in the Nigerian music scene so far this year, ‘Timeless’ had the biggest debut week ever with over 50 million on-demand streams in its first week alone. At the moment, it has over 200 million on-demand streams, with 185 million of those streams earned during the 26 weeks of the first half of the year.

It held the No.1 spot on the album charts for 10 weeks consecutively until it yielded to ‘Vibe Till Thy Kingdom Cone‘, but it continued to hold significant top spots on the chart for another 16 weeks after that.

Individually, the songs performed well, with three songs holding No.1 spots on the charts. The songs, ‘No Competition’ and ‘Over Dem’ spent a solid week at the No. 1 spot on the Streaming Chart; with ‘No Competition’ earning the spot as soon as it debuted.  ‘Unavailable’ took the No. 1 spot on the Radio Chart also for a week. 

‘Kante’, ‘Away’, ‘Na Money’, and ‘In the Garden’ made up the rest of his top entries earning Top 10 spots on the charts.

Just like the name implies, it seems like this album might be an ageless one for the artiste and his listeners. It is no wonder that it’s the most streamed album of 2023 in Nigeria.
