Darey’s comeback single is leading the race for next week’s Top Airplay Chart.

“Jah Guide Me,” released on August 14, is poised to become the first song to debut atop the airplay chart. This is the artiste’s first release in five years and should serve as the first single off his forthcoming album.

The song is getting its most spins on Cool FM (Lagos, Kano, PH, Abuja), Wazobia FM (Kano, Abuja, PH), Naija FM, The Beat FM (Lagos and Abuja) and Urban 96.5 FM.

“Jah Guide Me” is the surprise leader so far in what was supposed to be a two-way race between current leader “Betty Butter” and former leader “Woman.” Rema’s “Woman” slightly edges Mayorkun’s “Betty Butter” featuring Davido with two days of tracking left.

Reminisce’s “Ogaranya” featuring Fireboy DML is set to become the highest charting Hip Hop song on Top Airplay Chart history by moving into the top ten. The song equaled Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage (Remix)” featuring Beyoncé No. 14 peak on the chart dated August 17, leaving only Ladipoe’s “Know You” featuring Simi No. 13 peak ahead of it.

Ogaranya

If “Ogaranya” enters the top ten, it would become Reminisce’s first top ten entry on the chart while Fireboy DML previously peaked at No. 8 with “New York City Girl.”

Burna Boy’s “Way Too Big” is the leading song off Twice as Tall on radio and is looking to debut in the top 25.

Next week’s chart will be revealed on Monday, August 24, 2020.
