He also shares his vision for his future in music, giving us a glimpse into what’s next for his prolific career.

TTC: Hello, SB. Can you start by telling us a little bit about yourself and your role as a music producer?

SB: Hello, my name is SB. I’m a music producer, songwriter, and recording artistes based in Lagos, Nigeria. I’ve been in the industry for a few years now, and my role as a producer goes far beyond just making beats. It’s really about helping bring an artiste’s vision to life. I work closely with artistes to shape their ideas into sounds that people can truly connect with. Whether it’s through arranging, mixing, or even co-writing, my goal is to ensure that every piece of music I produce resonates with the listeners.

TTC: You produced FOLA’s “alone” single which peaked at No. 7 on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart.

The remix featuring BNXN peaked at No. 4 and has spent seven weeks on the Official Nigerian Top 100 chart. It also has over 15 million on-demand streams. How does it feel to have reached such a milestone?

SB: Honestly, it feels incredible. As a producer, you always hope that the music you create connects with people, but seeing “alone” achieve this level of success is beyond what I imagined. FOLA and I poured so much into that track, and to see it peak at No. 7 on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart and then hit No. 4 with the remix featuring BNXN is just surreal. The fact that it’s spent seven weeks on the chart and has over 15 million on-demand streams? That’s a blessing. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and the power of great

collaboration. I’m just grateful to be part of something that people genuinely love and connect with.

TTC: What was your experience working on “alone” with BhadBoi OML and the remix with BNXN? Were there any notable differences in the creative approach?

SB: Having BhadBoi OML and BNXN on the track was an amazing experience. They both brought so much raw emotion and authenticity to the music. With BhadBoi OML, we wanted to create something that felt intimate but still had enough energy to connect with a wider audience. When BNXN came on for the remix, he brought his unique ability to add warmth and depth to the sound, which took the song to a whole new level. It’s incredible to see how both versions resonate with listeners in different ways.

TTC: FOLA recently announced his debut EP, ‘what a feeling’. Are you involved in this project? What can fans expect from your contributions?

SB: Yes, I’m very much involved in FOLA ’s debut EP ‘what a feelin_g’_. I actually produced five out of the six tracks on the project. It’s been an amazing experience working on this because we really pushed creative boundaries to deliver something special. I wanted every song to feel unique but still flow as part of the bigger story FOLA is telling. Trust me, this EP is going to be something unforgettable.

TTC: You’ve produced notable tracks like Bella Shmurda’s “World”, MohBad’s “Sorry”, and Lil Kesh’s “Ayawa” featuring Chike. What drives you when working on a project, and what’s it like being behind the scenes of such hits?

SB: What drives me when working on a project is the desire to create something timeless, music that people can connect with on an emotional level. Every time I step into the studio, my goal is to bring out the best in the artiste and make sure the song leaves a lasting impact. Being behind the scenes of those hits is both exciting and humbling. There’s a lot of responsibility because the producer sets the foundation for the entire song. It’s about understanding the artiste’s vision and blending it with my own creativity to craft something magical.

The recognition is great, but for me, the real reward is hearing people sing along, dance, or feel something when they hear the music. That’s what makes all the hard work worth it.

TTC: Can you share some of the challenges and rewards of being a music producer? What keeps you motivated through the highs and lows?

SB: Being a music producer has its challenges, like balancing creativity with deadlines and managing different personalities. Staying consistent in an ever-evolving industry is tough too. But the rewards like seeing a song go viral or hearing people connect with your work make it all worth it. What keeps me going is my passion for music and its ability to bring people together. Even in tough times, I focus on the journey and use every challenge as a chance to grow.

TTC: What are your long-term goals in the music industry, and how do you see your role evolving in the years to come?

SB: My long-term goal is to keep making timeless music that connects with people worldwide. I also plan to release some amazing singles as a recording artiste and work with several big names in the industry. I want to keep growing creatively, exploring new sounds, and inspiring the next generation.
