Wizkid’s “Kese (Dance)” Debuts at No. 1 on the Official Nigeria Top 100, Ruger & Tiwa Savage’s “Toma Toma” Lifts to a New Peak of No. 3

Chart rankings on the Official Nigeria Top 100 are based on a weighted formula incorporating audio and video streams within Nigeria, as well as airplay on radio in the country. It is the first and only standard music chart in Nigeria, providing comprehensive music activity including the official No. 1 song in Nigeria

“Kese (Dance)” Becomes Wizkid’s 4th No. 1 Song in Nigeria

Wizkid’s “Kese (Dance)” debuts atop the Official Nigeria Top 100 with 6.72 million on-demand streams (No. 1 on streaming) and 114.8 million in radio reach (No. 1 on radio). 

Biggest Total Activity in a Week in 2024 

“Kese (Dance)” makes a heavy start on the official singles chart in Nigeria and in the process, records the biggest total activity by any single in a week this year – surpassing Kizz Daniel & Davido’s “Twe Twe” (week of Jan 26 – Feb 1, 2024). 

Biggest Radio Reach in a Week in History

Wizkid’s “Kese (Dance)” makes history by recording  the biggest radio airplay impressions by any single in a week in Nigeria. It tallied 114.8 million in radio reach during the week of November 15 – 21, 2024; breaking the record held by Kizz Daniel & Davido’s “Twe Twe (Remix)” [102.8M]. 

“Kese” is the second No. 1 single off Wizkid’s sixth studio album ‘Morayo” – joining “Piece of My Heart” which topped the chart for a week four weeks ago. As a result, ‘Morayo’ becomes the first album to spawn multiple No. 1 hits on the official singles chart in 2024– and the second project overall, joining Kizz Daniel’s ‘TZA’ 4-track EP. 

Davido’s “Awuke” with YG Marley drops to No. 2 after topping the chart for two consecutive weeks.It tallied 2.08 million on-demand streams (No. 3 on streaming) and 100.7 million in radio airplay impressions (No. 2 on radio). 

This marks the first time in history that two different songs have tallied over 100 million in radio reach in a single week. 

Ruger & Tiwa Savage’s “Toma Toma” jumps from No. 76 to a new peak of No. 3 on this week’s chart. It drew 1.85 million on-demand streams (No. 5 on streaming) and 84.6 million in radio reach (No. 3 on radio). Ruger earns his 8th top ten entry in Nigeria (four in 2024 alone) while Tiwa Savage becomes only the second female artiste to record a milestone 10 top ten entries on the singles chart in the country (she joins Ayra Starr). 

BNXN’s “Fi Kan We Kan” with Rema tumbles 2-4 after topping the chart for a week. 

Kizz Daniel & Adekunle Gold’s “Pano Tona” rises to a new peak of No. 5 on this week’s chart. It tallied 1.86 million on-demand streams (No. 4 on streaming) and 57.9 million in radio reach (No. 5 on radio). 

Wizkid’s “Piece of My Heart” with Brent Faiyaz drops 4-6 while Fido’s “Awolowo” falls 3-7 on this week’s chart. 

FOLA’s “Alone (Remix)” with BNXN backtracks 7-8 while Lil Kesh’s “Vex For U” with Fireboy DML & Ayo Maff enters  a new peak of No. 9 in its second week on the chart. Lil Kesh scores his second top ten entry on the official singles chart (joining “Don’t Call Me” with Zinoleesky which peaked at No. 3). “Vex For U” is Ayo Maff’s second top ten entry in Nigeria (joining “Dealer” which peaked at No. 2 earlier this year and also features Fireboy DML. 

Rounding out this week’s top ten; Asake & Wizkid’s “MMS” falls 6-10.  

Just Outside the Top Ten

  • Mayorkun & Fireboy DML’s “Innocent” debuts at No. 14. 
  • Johnny Drille & Don Jazzy’s “Anyway” launches at No. 15. 
  • Asake’s “Remember” ranks at No. 20 on this week’s chart. 
  • “Lonely At The Top” leaves this week’s Top 100 after spending 62 weeks on the chart (only Rema’s “Calm Down” with 63 weeks has spent more). It drops into the Top Recurrent Songs chart. You can see more information on the recurrent chart here
