In this Interview with TurnTable, the artiste talks on channeling his life experiences into music, crafting an album that resonates with himself and as an artiste to watch in the evolving Nigerian music scene.

TTC: Hello. Can you please introduce yourself to TurnTable Charts?

Aguero: I’m Aguero Banks , a real life Hiphop artist from Enugu South eastern part of Nigeria . I make real life music and my environment while growing up plays a huge role in my music process and one can easily tell that I’m a product of my environment 

TTC:Your debut album, ‘The Hero’, has just been released. What central theme does the project revolve around, and can you take us through your creative process for it?

Aguero: The central theme of my album the Hero is power to strive to win, my album centers on the will to persevere, overcome and win. The will to fight and overcome life challenges.   

My creative process for the album was purely organic, I channeled my emotions and feelings into making these songs and that birthed my debut album “The Hero”

TTC: "HERO," featuring Phyno, has been a major success, debuting at No. 59 on the Official Nigerian Top 100 chart and peaking at No. 29 on the streaming chart. How did this collaboration with Phyno come about?

 

Aguero: Phyno is one of the people I look up to both in music and personal life , the collaboration between  Phyno and I  was organic,  Phyno loves my sound and my music so getting him to jump on that track was like an icing on the cake. He loved the record, he jumped on it and every other thing is history

TTC: Do you have a standout track on the album that holds special meaning for you? If so, could you tell us more about it?

Aguero: I don’t really have a personal track on this album as each of the track represents something symbolic in my life and that of the people around me and they all resonates with me differently so it’s best to say the whole tracks on the album are my favorites 

TTC: How long did it take for ‘The Hero’ to come to life from inception to completion?

Aguero:  the truth is I have been working on this album for a long time now that I can’t even place a date on it, we took our time in making this project , it took me life to give life to this album and I thank the Lord for finally giving us the opportunity to show the album to the world 

TTC: Who are your biggest musical influences, and where do you find inspiration when crafting your music?

Aguero: I have so many musical influences as I listen to vast genre of music from highlife to Hiphop , reggae and more.   My inspiration comes from real life happenings, a life situation can inspire me into making music 

TTC: You've collaborated with a number of artistes already. Are there any other artistes or specific genres you're eager to explore in future projects?

Aguero: Yeah I have collaborated with a lot of artists and I look forward to collaborating with more artists in the future and tapping other genres while Making real life music

TTC: Now that the album is out, what’s next on the horizon? Should we be anticipating any new music or other exciting projects?

Aguero: Now the album is out and doing amazingly well,  people should be expecting more music videos from the album
