Chart rankings on the Official Nigeria Top 100 are based on a weighted formula incorporating audio and video streams within Nigeria, as well as airplay on radio in the country. It is the first and only standard music chart in Nigeria, providing comprehensive music activity including the official No. 1 song in Nigeria

“Awuke” is Davido’s Third No. 1 Entry of 2024, Ninth Overall 

Davido’s “Awuke” with YG Marley  tallied 94.5 million in radio reach (No. 1 on radio) and 2.97 million on-demand streams (No. 1 on streaming) as it debuts at the top of this week’s Official Nigeria Top 100. As a result, it becomes Davido’s ninth No. 1 entry on the official singles chart in Nigeria.

YG Marley scores his first No. 1 song in Nigeria with “AWUKE” and becomes the eighth artiste to earn their first ever No. 1 single via a Davido assist (interestingly, none of these artistes have reached the summit of the official singles chart after this visit). 

“Awuke” is the third song in history to reach No. 1 on the official singles chart without being available on one of the 5 major streaming platforms in the country. It joins Gyakie’s “Forever (Remix)” with Omah Lay and Wizkid’s “Piece of My Heart” with Brent Faiyaz. (“Awuke” and “Piece of My Heart” were both unavailable on Boomplay Nigeria during the week of release while “Forever (Remix)” was not available on Audiomack Nigeria at the time in 2021). 

More History for Davido

Davido earns his third No. 1 entry of 2024 with “Awuke – tying Kizz Daniel and Shallipopi for most number-one entries this year. In addition, he earns a personal record for joint highest number of No. 1 singles in a year (he also scored three No. 1 hits in 2020). 

BNXN’s “Fi Kan We Kan” with Rema slips 1-2 on this week’s chart while Wizkid’s former No. 1 “Piece of My Heart” with Brent Faiyaz tumbles 2-3. 

Fido’s “Awolowo” rebounds to its peak of No. 4 on this week’s Top 100. It benefits from the release of the remix with Tiwa Savage. However, she is not credited on this week’s chart entry as the original version accounts for the largest share of total chart points. 

Kizz Daniel’s “Marhaba” drops 3-5. It topped the chart for two weeks. 

Fola’s “Alone” with BNXN holds at No. 6 for another week while Smur Lee & ODUMODUBLVCK’s “JUJU” with Shallipopi falls 4-7. 

Rounding out this week’s top ten; Shallipopi’s “Order” with Olamide launches at No. 8 with 2.13 million on-demand streams (No. 3 on streaming) and 34.2 million in radio reach (No. 19 on radio). 

Asake & Wizkid’s Grammy-nominated “MMS” slides 5-9 while Tiwa Savage’s “Forgiveness” retreats 9-10.
