Taylor Swift in the United States, Ed Sheeran in the United Kingdom and possibly Asake in Nigeria next week. These three artistes could have one thing in common by the time the next official singles chart in Nigeria rolls out on Monday, August 19 — that is, being the only artiste on their country’s official chart to occupy the entire top ten in a week. 

In Nigeria, Davido holds the current record for most entries in the top ten of the Official Nigeria Top 100; he achieved this feat last April when his ubiquitous album ‘Timeless’ landed and went on to shatter several streaming records. He had 8 entries during the chart dated the week of March 31 – April 6, 2023. [Adekunle Gold’s “Party No Dey Stop” with Zinoleesky & BNXN’s “Gwagwalada” with Kizz Daniel & Seyi Vibez blocked Davido from occupying the entire top ten]. 

Asake has already broken several records with his latest album after six days of release and he has one more in sight – being the first artiste to occupy the entire top ten of the official singles chart in Nigeria.
