Chart rankings on the Official Nigeria Top 100 are based on a weighted formula incorporating audio and video streams within Nigeria, as well as airplay on radio and satellite TV in the country. It is the first and only standard music chart in Nigeria, providing comprehensive music activity including the official No. 1 song in Nigeria

“Lonely At The Top” has spent the past seven weeks at No. 1 in what has been a historic run atop the Official Nigeria Top 100. The song has fend off (with ease) the challenge of songs such as Khaid’s “Anabella” (two weeks at No. 2 peak), and “Big 7” (debut at No. 2). Its latest challenge is fending off songs from Burna Boy’s latest massive album.

‘I Told Them’ launched into huge numbers on streaming (Spotify, Apple Music) and that could propel some of its songs into the top ten of the chart with three aiming for the No. 1 spot.

The aforementioned “Big 7” leads the pack due to its strength on radio and is projected to end the tracking week with 65 million in radio reach and 3.8 million on-demand streams.

“Giza” featuring Seyi Vibez follows with a projected 4.4 million on-demand streams and 25 million in radio reach while “City Boy” has an outside chance at No. 1 with a projected 4.2 million on-demand streams and 23 million in radio airplay impressions.

If Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” holds at No. 1, it will become the third longest No. 1 song in singles chart history (behind 11-week leader “Godly” and 10-week leader “Sip (Alcohol).” A Burna Boy No. 1 song will ensure he becomes only the second artiste to have a No. 1 song on the singles chart in four consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023) - joining Davido. It would also mean his fifth No. 1 single in Nigeria as well as becoming the third artiste to record at least one No. 1 song off multiple albums.

The Official Nigeria Top 100 will be published next week Monday comprising the August 25 - 31 tracking week.
