It was widely reported in the Nigerian media yesterday, July 24, 2023, that Seyi Vibez had become the second African artiste to amass one billion streams on music streaming app, Audiomack. However, upon further investigation, it has been confirmed that the artiste has 680 million total streams and not one billion streams as previously reported. 

 Seyi Vibez’s artiste profile on Audiomack has 1,005,446,676 total account plays, but this is not reflective of his actual numbers. The error comes from the double counting of songs that appear on both his debut album, ‘Billion Dollar Baby’ and its deluxe version ‘Billion Dollar Baby 2.0’. He released ‘Billion Dollar Baby’, an eleven track album on 2, November 2022. He then released the deluxe version, ‘Billion Dollar Baby 2.0’ on 9, December 2022; with five additional tracks, bringing the number of songs to sixteen.

Billion Dollar Baby 2.0 was the most 2nd most streamed album in Nigeria, in the first half of 2023 with 131.1 million streams. It also produced two top ten entries on the Official Nigeria Top 100 —- ‘Chance’ which peaked at No.7 and ‘Billion Dollar’ which peaked at No. 10.
