From record-breaking hits to groundbreaking newcomers, these charts encapsulate the trends, milestones, and cultural moments that shaped the industry. Backed by comprehensive data from streaming and airplay, the 2024 Year-End Charts offer a definitive snapshot of the music that resonated with fans in Nigeria during the last year.

• Overall No. 1 Artiste: Asake  This is Asake’s third consecutive year as the overall No. 1 artiste. He’s also the first artiste to achieve this feat. In 2024, all of Asake’s projects including his previously released albums, ‘Mr Money With The Vibe (MMWTV)’ and ‘Work Of Art’ all spent multiple weeks  in the top ten of the Official Top 100 Albums chart with ‘Lungu Boy’ spending 15 weeks at No. 1.  

• Overall No. 1 Song: “Twe Twe (Remix)” by Kizz Daniel & Davido  Kizz Daniel’s “Twe Twe” featuring Davido is the Year-End chart’s overall No. 1 song. The release of the remix extended the No. 1 reign of the song, spending a total of ten weeks on No. 1 (five weeks with Davido credited), and twenty-nine weeks in total on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart. Previous year-end No. 1 songs are Neptune’s “Nobody” ft. Joeboy, Mr Eazi (2020), Omah Lay’s “Godly” (2021), Kizz Daniel’s “Buga (Lo Lo Lo)” (2022), and Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” (2023).

• Overall No. 1 Album: ‘Lungu Boy’ by Asake  Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ is the overall No. 1 album. Asake has topped every year-end album chart since its inception in 2022; his debut and sophomore studio albums, ‘Mr Money With The Vibe’ (2022) and ‘Work Of Art’ (2023). ‘Lungu Boy’ debuted at No. 1 and spent a record-breaking 15 weeks at No. 1. 

• No. 1 Streaming Artiste: Seyi Vibez Seyi Vibez is the most streamed artiste on the 2024 Year-End Charts. Bella Shmurda led in 2021, and Asake in 2022 and 2023. 

• No. 1 Streaming Song: “Egwu” by Chike & MohBad “Egwu” has surpassed 75 million on-demand streams in Nigeria. The leading songs on streaming in the past years are Omah Lay’s “Godly” (2021), Kizz Daniel’s “Buga (Lo Lo Lo)” (2022), and Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” (2023).

• No. 1 Radio Artiste: Asake Aside from being the overall Year-End artiste, Asake is also 2024’s No. 1 radio artiste, bagging the lead for the second time in a row. Davido was the top radio artiste in 2022 and 2021 while Burna Boy led the chart in 2020. 

• No. 1 Radio Song: “Twe Twe (Remix)” by Kizz Daniel & Davido

Kiss Daniel’s “Twe Twe (Remix)” with Davido was the most-heard song on radio with 1.32 billion radio airplay impressions. The past leading radio songs are Neptune’s “Nobody” in 2020, DJ Kaywise’s “High Way” ft. Phyno in 2021, Rema’s “Calm Down” in  2022, and Omah Lay’s “Soso” in 2023.  

• No. 1 Official Top 100 Songs Artiste: Asake Asake is the artiste with the highest total chart points on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart this year (the inaugural year-end chart for this category) 

• No. 1 Official Top 100 Albums Artiste: Seyi Vibez Seyi Vibez is the best-selling artiste based on total album units during the year (the inaugural year-end chart for this category) 

• No. 1 Male Artiste: Asake For the third consecutive year, Asake makes the lead as the No. 1 Male Artiste on the 2024 Year-End chart. He has led the chart since 2022. 

• No. 1 Female Artiste: Ayra Starr Ayra Starr led the Year-End top female artiste chart for the third consecutive year. Previously,  Simi led in 2020, a tie between Tiwa Savage and Tems in 2021. Ayra Starr has topped the chart since 2022.

• No. 1 Afro-Pop Artiste: Kizz Daniel  The No. 1 Afro-pop artiste of 2024 is Kizz Daniel. Burna Boy was the No. 1 Afro-pop artiste in 2022 and Davido in 2023. Davido was also No. 1 in 2020 and 2021. 

• No. 1 Afro-Pop Song: “Egwu” by Chike & MohBad

Chike’s “Egwu” with MohBad is the No. 1 Afro-Pop song. Previous leaders on the year-end chart include Kizz Daniel & Tekno’s “Buga (Lo Lo Lo)” in 2022 and Omah Lay’s “Soso” in 2023. 

• No. 1 Afro-Pop Album: ‘Jiggy Forever’ by Young Jonn

Young Jonn’s ‘Jiggy Forever’ is the No. 1 Afro-pop album position in 2024. Davido’s ‘Timeless’ was the most-streamed Afro-Pop album in 2023. 

• No. 1 Street-Hop Artiste: Asake The top street-hop artiste on the Year-End chart is Asake. He held this position in 2022 and 2023. 

• No. 1 Street-Hop Song: “Cast” by Shallipopi & ODUMODUBLVCK

Shallipopi’s “Cast” ft. ODUMODUBLVCK is the No. 1 Street-Hop song of 2024. The song debuted at No. 1 and became the first chart topper for Shallipopi as well as being ODUMODUBLVCK’s second. Asake’s “Sungba (Remix)” with Burna Boy led in 2022 while “2:30” led in 2023.

• No. 1 Street-Hop Album: ‘Lungu Boy’ by Asake

‘Lungu Boy’ by Asake is the No. 1 Street-Hop Album. ‘Lungu Boy’ joins the artiste’s two previous albums in topping this year-end chart; ‘Mr Money With The Vibe’ in 2022 and ‘Work Of Art’ in 2023.

• No. 1 Gospel Artiste: Mercy Chinwo Mercy Chinwo is the best-performing gospel artiste on the Year-End chart. This is Mercy Chinwo’s second consecutive time having led in 2023 while Sunday School Service led in 2022. (Mercy Chinwo also topped the Top Gospel Artiste year-end chart in 2020 while KCee led in 2021)

• No. 1 Gospel Song: “Omemma (Live)” by Chandler Moore

Chandler Moore’s “Omemma (Live)” is the No. 1 gospel song of 2024. Davido’s “Stand Strong” ft. Sunday Service Choir led in 2022 while Nathaniel Bassey’s “TOBECHUKWU” with Mercy Chinwo led in 2023. 

• No. 1 Gospel Album: ‘Overwhelming Victory’ by Mercy Chinwo

On the Year-End chart, Mercy Chinwo’s album, ‘Overwhelming Victory’ is the No. 1 Gospel album in 2024. In 2023, it was Nathaniel Bassey’s ‘Hallelujah (Live)’. 

• No. 1 Hip-Hop/Rap Artiste: ODUMODUBLVCK ODUMODUBLVCK led the Year-End chart as the No. 1 Hip-Hop/Rap artiste for the first time ever— ending Olamide’s four-year streak (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023)

• No. 1 Hip-Hop/Rap Song: “Do I (Remix)” by Phyno & Burna Boy

Phyno’s “Do I (Remix)” featuring Burna Boy is the Year-End chart’s No. 1 Hip-Hop/Rap song. Pervious leaders on this year-end chart include Black Sherif’s “Kwaku The Traveler” and  ODUMODUBLVCK’s “Declan Rice” in 2022 and 2023 respectively. 

• No. 1 Hip-Hop/Rap Album: ‘EZIOKWU’ by ODUMODUBLVCK

For the second consecutive year, ODUMODUBLVCK’s mixtape-cum-album, ‘EZIOKWU’ is the best-selling Hip-Hop album.

• No. 1 Afro-R&B Artiste: Chike Chike is the No. 1 Afro-R&B artiste of the year. Tems led in 2022 while Johnny Drille was the genre leader for 2023.

• No. 1 Afro-R&B Song: “MMS” by Asake & Wizkid

Asake’s “MMS” ft. Wizkid off his third album, ‘Lungu Boy’ is the Year-End chart’s No. 1 Afro-R&B song. On the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart, “MMS” debuted at No. 1 and spent three weeks atop the chart. 

Previous leaders include Wizkid’s “Essence” with Tems in 2021, Fave’s “Baby Riddim” in 2022 and Libianca’s “People (Remix)” ft. Ayra Starr and Omah Lay in 2023.

• No. 1 Afro-R&B Album: ‘Son of Chike’ by Chike

Chike’s third studio album, ‘Son of Chike’ was the No. 1 Afro-R&B album. Johnny Drille’s EP, ‘Home’ took the top spot in 2023. 

• No. 1 Traditional Artiste: Flavour The No. 1 Traditional artiste in Nigeria in 2024 is Flavour. This is the artiste’s third consecutive stint leading this category on the year-end charts having led in 2022 and 2023.

• No. 1 Traditional Song: “Twe Twe (Remix)” by Kizz Daniel & Davido

For a second consecutive year, the biggest song in Nigeria is a song classified under the Traditional genre; Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” led both the overall Year-End Top Songs and Top Traditional Songs charts. 

• No. 1 Traditional Album: ‘African Royalty’ by Flavour 

The album leads for a second consecutive year. 

• No. 1 International Song: “Tshwala Bam (Remix)” by TitoM, Yuppe & Burna Boy ft. S.N.E

The Year-End Top International Songs category is quickly becoming a pan-African collaboration flag bearer. In 2022, Camidoh’s “Sugarcane (Remix)” featuring Maryokun, Darkoo and King Promise — a Nigerian/Ghanaian collaboration led the list. In 2023, Libianca’s “People (Remix)” with Ayra Starr and Omah Lay led, featuring a Cameroonian-Nigerian collaboration. This year’s leaders is a collaboration between South African Amapiano artistes and Nigeria’s superstar. 

• No. 1 International Artiste: Gunna Gunna is the Year-End chart’s No. 1 International artiste. Don Toliver led the chart in 2023 while Black Sherif topped in 2022. 

• No. 1 International Album: ‘11:11 (Deluxe)’ by Chris Brown

The No. 1 international album is Chris Brown’s ‘11:11 (Deluxe)’. Lil Durk’s ‘Almost Healed’ led in 2023.

• No. 1 International Radio Song: 

Darkoo’s “Favourite Girl (Remix)” with Rema is the No. 1 international song on the radio this year. Libianca’s “People (Remix)” ft. Ayra Starr and Omah Lay topped the year-end chart in 2023 and Harry Styles’ “As It Was” in 2022.  

• No. 1 International Group/Duo: TxC

TxC is the No. 1 international group/duo. In 2022, Sunday School Service led while Yaba Buluku Boyz did in 2023. BTS were previous leaders in 2020 while the Silk Sonic duo of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak topped the chart in 2021. 

• No. 1 Emerging Artiste: Ayo Maff Ayo Maff is the best performing overall emerging artiste in the Year-End chart. In 2022, Berri-Tiga topped the chart  Shallipopi was the 2023 leader. 

• No. 1 Emerging Female Artiste: Smur Lee The best-performing emerging female artiste is Smur Lee. Previously, it was Ladé in 2022 and Libianca in 2023. 

• No. 1 Emerging Male Artiste: Ayo Maff The No. 1 emerging male artiste of 2024 is Ayo Maff. In 2022, it was Berri-Tiga, and in 2023, Shallipopi.

• No. 1 Producer: Blaisebeatz Blaisebeatz is the No. 1 producer on the Year-End chart. Having finished as runner up on the year-end charts for the two previous years, Blaisebeatz ends Magicsticks streak on the Year-End Top Producers chart. Tempoe led in 2021 while Telz was the inaugural leader in 2020. 

• No. 1 Spotify Artiste: Asake

Asake was also the No. 1 Spotify artiste of the year for the second consecutive year. Burna Boy led in 2022. 

• No. 1 Spotify Album: ‘Jiggy Forever’ by Young Jonn

Spotify’s No. 1 album is Young Jonn’s debut album, ‘Jiggy Forever’. In 2022, it was Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini’ and Davido’s ‘Timeless’ in 2023.

• No. 1 Spotify Song: “Dealer” by Ayo Maff & Fireboy DML

Ayo Maff’s “Dealer” featuring Fireboy DML is Spotify’s No. 1 song. This spot was held by Burna Boy’s “Last Last” in 2022 and Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” in 2023.

• No. 1 Apple Music Artiste: Asake

According to the Year-End chart, Asake is the No. 1 Apple Music artiste. Burna Boy led in 2022 and Asake in 2023.

• No. 1 Apple Music Album: ‘Lungu Boy’ by Asake

Apart from being Apple Music’s best-performing artiste of 2024, his third album, ‘Lungu Boy’ was the No. 1 Apple Music album. Previously, it was Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini’ in 2022, and Asake’s ‘Work Of Art’ in 2023.

• No. 1 Apple Music Song: “Different Pattern” by Seyi Vibez 

Seyi Vibez’s “Different Pattern” is the No. 1 Apple Music song of 2024. Before “Different Pattern”, it was Asake’s “Sungba (Remix)” featuring Burna Boy (2022) and Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” single (2023).

• No. 1 Boomplay Artiste: Seyi Vibez

Seyi Vibez is Boomplay’s No.1 artiste of the year. In 2022, Burna Boy led while Asake did in 2023. 

• No. 1 Boomplay Song: “Egwu” by Chike & MohBad

• No. 1 Audiomack Artiste: Seyi Vibez

Seyi Vibez is the No. 1 Audiomack’s artiste of 2024. He also achieved this feat in 2023 while Asake did in 2022. 

• No. 1 Audiomack Album: ‘Lungu Boy’ by Asake

Asake’s third album, ‘Lungu Boy’ is the No. 1 Audiomack album of 2024. Asake’s previous projects, ‘Mr Money With The Vibe’ and ‘Work Of Art’ topped this position in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
