• Ladipoe and Buju Has Everyone in Their Feelings

Front Runner for Song of the Summer, Contender for Song of the Year

This week, on the TurnTable Top 50, “Feeling” by Ladipoe& Buju spent an impressive fourth week at the summit of the chart. The single continued the impressive run that saw it topped the Airplay (Radio) chart, Streaming chart, and the Top 50 (having also led the TV chart last week). This impressive run sees Ladipoe join the list of artistes who has topped all four charts with the same song.

“Feeling” first gained traction on streaming platforms as it proved to be a fan favorite. It didn’t take long before radio stations were all in their feelings and when the video dropped, it had consumed Nigeria’s music space and got everyone in their feelings. The feel-good video which featured partying kids perfectly captures the song’s happy message and infectious energy. If Ladipoe was aiming for a song that will be relatable across every demographic and age, we must congratulate him on a fantastic job.

“Feeling” is currently leading the charge for Nigeria’s Song of the summer and the single’s rising popularity suggests it will be a tough race for any song hoping to tip it to the price.

Last year, Ladipoe took home the collaboration of the year award at the Headies Award with “Know You” his sensational duet with Simi. And with “Feelings,” Ladipoe has thrown his hat in the ring for the prize. We think Ladipoe can do one better by going all the way for the Song of the year prize. Ladipoe and Buju did not only make a beautiful song, but they also created a hit that has everyone in their feelings. And this trifecta is no mean feat.

Ladipoe and Buju will surely like the way they’re feeling about the success of their collaboration and the same can be said for everyone who listens to the beautiful song they created.
