Four Hip-Hop Songs in the Top Five of TurnTable Top 50
Dj Kaywise's "High Way" with Phyno rises to No. 2 on the TurnTable Top 50, joining Olamide's "Infinity" featuring Omah Lay as the highest charting Hip Hop on the all-genre chart. It also becomes the first Hip-Hop song to lead radio chart after drawing 55.01 million radio audience impression during the tracking week.
On this week's TurnTable Top 50; Bella Shmurda's "Cash App" with Zlatan & Lincoln stays at its No. 3 peak, Olamide's "Infinity" featuring Omah Lay falls to No. 4 after spending nine non-consecutive weeks at No. 2. Naira Marley's "Koleyewon" moves to No. 5, jumping seven positions following increase in radio and TV airplay during the tracking week. Omah Lay's "Godly" at No. 1 is the only non-Hip Hop song in the top five this week.
This makes it four Hip Hop songs in the top five of the TurnTable Top 50 in a week. Additionally, all these four songs are performed pre-dominantly in indigenous languages (Yoruba and Igbo). This is third time one genre will have this amount of share in the top five – the previous occurrence being the debut weeks of Davido and Wizkid’s albums in 2020 (Afro-Pop).
