• Patoranking and Dj Tunez Set to Challenge for No. 1 on Top Airplay Chart

It is going to be a tight race for the No. 1 song on radio this week

Patoranking’s “Abule” and Dj Tunez’s “PAMI” featuring Wizkid, Adekunle Gold & Omah Lay are in a tight race for No. 1.

There is going to be a new No. 1 on the national airplay chart and it’s likely to be “Abule” or “PAMI.” Both songs debuted in the top five on this week’s chart but one of the two will be the leader on the chart next week.

Abule

“Abule” holds a slim lead with 16 more spins heading into the last tracking day and the song was added to two new stations during the tracking week. The song has had its most spins on Sound City 98.5 Lagos, Cool FM 96.9FM Lagos and Max FM Abuja.

Dj Tunez’s “PAMI” heads into the last tracking day at No. 2 in terms of number of spins, while also recording more spins on radio across Nigeria week-on-week despite not being added to any new radio station during the tracking week. The song has had its most spins on Sound City 98.5 Lagos, Cool FM 96.9FM Lagos and The Beat 99 Port Harcourt.

PAMI

If “Abule” moves to No. 1, it would become the sixth leader on the chart and Patoranking’s first (TurnTable Top Airplay Chart was launched on July 9). If “PAMI” finishes at No. 1, it would become the first leader for all the artiste involved. The previous peak of all the artiste on “PAMI”

  1. “Something Different,” Adekunle Gold (peaked at No. 3)
  2. “AG Baby,” Adekunle Gold featuring Nailah Blackman (peaked at No. 3)
  3. “Lo Lo,” Omah Lay (peaked at No. 4)

“PAMI” is the highest charting entry by Wizkid while Dj Tunez has never had any entry on the chart before the song.

In the process, Adekunle Gold would become the first artiste with three songs to peak in the top 3 of Top Airplay Chart (he currently shares the record with Burna Boy and Rema; 2 each).

This week's Top Airplay Chart will be revealed tomorrow, Monday, September 7
